Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Implement an engineering approach dealing with a set problem taking into account technical, economic and environmental constraints
    • Design, evaluate and optimise solutions addressing the problem
    • Implement a chosen solution in the form of a drawing, a schema, a plan, a model, a prototype, software and/or digital model
    • Communicate the approach, results and prospects to a project owner or a board
    • Identify and acquire the information and skills needed to solve the problem
  • Complete an architecture project, individually or as part of a team
    • Analyse and characterise complex problems in the field of architecture by adopting a scientific, heuristic, hermeneutic, systemic and transdisciplinary approach which integrates ethical, cultural, human, economic, technological and environmental contexts and issues
    • Use the principles and tools of planning (time, tasks and resources)
    • Ensure a project is tracked and documented according to its specifications
    • Adapt the approach and achievements taking into account the feedback received
    • Respect deadlines and timescales
  • Collaborate, work in a team
    • Interact effectively with other students to carry out collaborative projects.
    • Analyse personal performance within a group
    • Identify and appropriately implement the different ways of working in a group
  • Communicate in a structured way - visually, orally and in writing, in French and English - giving clear, accurate, and reasoned information

    • Use several methods of written and graphic communication: text, tables, equations, sketches, maps, graphs, etc.
    • Give an effective oral presentation, using presentation materials appropriately

    • Identify the different fields and participants in architectural engineering

Learning Outcomes of UE

The student will acquire notions that allow him/her to :
- understand, structure and compose a new program in a pre-existing architectural structure, in adequacy with the existing structure, the comfort performances and the various contexts.
- structure his thinking and his architectural design according to the philosophy of intervention in the existing structure.
- Analyse and interpret a constructive detail specific to the intervention in the existing. 

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

This teaching unit is mainly based on the architectural project specific to the composition in the existing building which is fed by the notions of heritage and intervention in the existing building.
