Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the theoretical and methodological fundamentals in psychology, educational sciences and language sciences to analyse a particular situation involving speech therapy
    • Identify and explain the concepts, principles, and models of basic theoretical approaches in psychology, educational sciences and language sciences and their applications
    • Identify and describe the specific characteristics of psychology, educational sciences and language sciences, and their relationship to other contributory disciplines
    • Describe the main methodological approaches (goals, methods, techniques and tools) to understand and explain the functioning of individuals and groups
  • Understand the fundamentals of speech therapy interventions
    • Explain the concepts and relationships of theoretical models of intervention adopt a critical stance regarding these models.
  • Understand the fundamentals related to the scientific approach in psychology, educational sciences and speech therapy
    • Identify and explain the main methods (including limitations) specific to the scientific process
  • Understand, describe and analyse the French language
    • Demonstrate a perfect command of the French language, orally and in writing, in both production and understanding

Learning Outcomes of UE

The course is devoted to the study of cognitive processes involved in perception, comprehension and production of spoken and written (empirical data and models).
A description of research methods specific to psycholinguistics (lexical decision, priming, ..) as well as current issues and current research (Connectionism, theories of language acquisition, language engineering, brain imaging techniques, dialectics invariance-variance) are also proposed.

Content of UE

Objectives, evolution and methods in psycholinguistics. Speech perception and lexical access; empirical and theoretical data and models. Production: empirical and theoretical data and models.
