      Objectives of general skills

      • Understand the fundamentals (theories and tools) in human and social sciences
        • Understand the social environment and the way it works, as well as the role played by different social, economic and political agents
      • Understand the fundamentals in the field of human resource management (Human Resource Management option)
        • Understand human resource management in relation to organisational environments in which it develops.
        • Analyse human situations in business and propose appropriate measures.
      • Master knowledge from disciplines within social and human sciences.
        • Understand extensive issues and answer key questions in these disciplines.
      • Appropriately collect, analyse and interpret empirical data on issues within social and human sciences.
        • Understand and implement tools and methods for collecting qualitative data.
        • Process empirical data collected with care.
      • Communicate in a clear, structured and justified manner on issues related to human and social sciences
        • Communicate, both orally and in writing, on issues related to human and social sciences.
        • Demonstrate analytical skills.
      • Apply transferable skills, such as analysis and critical thinking, thoroughness, independence, and teamwork
        • Produce an analysis independently and in collaboration with peers, while demonstrating thoroughness.

      UE's Learning outcomes

      Following this course, students will be able to understand and to apply theorical concepts relating to group and to manage a group of ten people: organizing meetings, planning sessions, chairing meetings, time management, evaluation of operation, observations and preparation of accounts reports, reflective analysis of the functioning of the group, evaluation of the members. The students will also be able to - study with particular frames of references specific HR issues by recognizing the organizational context in which these HR issues appear and by discerning working process - to suggest specific actions or improvements in order to solve HR issues that will be analysed during the course - to view a specific HR problem with different approaches.

      UE Content

      Group management: presentation and application of Tools to assess the functioning of the group, methodological Tools to lead and manage a debate within the group. Practice: animation tutorials among students (debriefing following the january exams, coaching, debates, information about options,...); supervision sessions. HR diagnstic: analysis, diagnostic, understanding, context, stakes, managerial and operational process, HR issues, suggestions for improvement, HR directors/managers interviews,...
