Prérequis

Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand language of instruction and foreign languages (language skills)
    • Communicate easily and adequately, in both selected foreign languages, at a minimum level of B2 in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
  • Understand and integrate cultural similarities and differences (cultural and intercultural skills)
    • Demonstrate real knowledge of the cultures of the studied languages
    • Identify cultural differences and talk about them
  • Use lexicographical resources and reference materials to lead linguistic mediation activities individually or as part of a team (professional skills)
    • Carry out, alone or in groups, activities or projects involving critical analysis
    • Communicate results or conclusions of these activities or projects in an appropriate manner
  • Conduct relevant research and report on it in a critical manner (cognitive skills)
    • Assess the relevance and reliability of documentary sources used
    • Give a critique of the studied literature

Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of this learning activity, students will be able to:
- identify, place and describe significant cultural events as a native speaker would (literature, Fine Arts, political, economic and social organisation, judicial system, etc.);
- carry out competent and accurate research on these subjects;
- report on their methodology and research.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

Study of selected episodes / events in the history of Italy from the 19th century to the present day: Presentation of the organization of the political and judicial systems, of the actors of social dialogue. Study of Italian institutions, their evolution and transformation by examining the major steps that led to modern Italy. Introduction to contemporary culture: study of various literary and artistic currents based on the work of major emblematic authors.
