Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand language of instruction and foreign languages (language skills)
    • Use French perfectly in a variety of non-technical situations, both orally and in writing
    • Understand, reformulate and summarise documents and presentations, in French, on various topics written by experts, including those related to current affairs
  • Use lexicographical resources and reference materials to lead linguistic mediation activities individually or as part of a team (professional skills)
    • Use printed or electronic dictionaries and reference materials appropriately
    • Reformulate, summarise, translate or interpret a document of general interest written or presented orally in a foreign language into French
    • Carry out, alone or in groups, activities or projects involving critical analysis
    • Communicate results or conclusions of these activities or projects in an appropriate manner
  • Conduct relevant research and report on it in a critical manner (cognitive skills)
    • Conduct targeted and reasoned documentary research in both the core language and the foreign languages studied
    • Assess the relevance and reliability of documentary sources used

Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of this training (AA Communication écrite et synthèse de textes), students will be able to :
- apply writing-techniques (reported speech, internal rephrasing, a variety of means of expression) specific to the requested text type;
- make syntheses (potentially on the basis of their own file) respecting the principle of accurate information and correct/elegant language-use. 
 

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

For the learning activity Communication écrite et synthèse de textes : File development for syntheses (news and social issues). Writing of Syntheses, individualy or in subgroups, and semi-autonomous work. Various strategies of text correction and revision (training in self-correcting and correction by peers).
