Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

Learning Outcomes of UE

The dissertation part 2 consists of the completion of a written and personal work, presenting an original research aimed at contributing to the development of knowledge in clinical orthopedagogy. In the dissertation, a central question or practical problem, clearly stated in the introduction, is explored by means of the methods acquired during the training, subjected to criticism and enriched, if necessary, with unpublished material. 
This UE is co-managed by ULB, ULiège and UMONS. Therefore, beyond the transversal structure, autonomy is left to each of the promoters, according to the measures in force in their institution of reference, to further define the provisions included. 
 

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

Depending on the chosen theme and in consultation with the promoter and/or the co-sponsor, the student may be required to complete a scientific research dissertation in which he/she will collect, analyze/interpret and discuss data collected on the basis of one or more research questions and hypotheses; or a dissertation of the critical literature synthesis type in which an in-depth research and analysis of the literature will be carried out in relation to one or more research questions and hypotheses and on the basis of precise methodological guidelines that may be acquired within the dissertation UE (transverse dissertation support device). 
Dissertations can be carried out alone or in pairs (subject to consultation and prior agreement with the promoter). In the case of pairs, each student submits his or her own individual work in which the introduction and discussion parts are personal and clearly differentiated from the joint work. The methodology and the analysis of the results can be written jointly, but only with the approval of the promoter.
