Objectives of general skills

  • Understand language of instruction and foreign languages?? (language skills)
    • Use French perfectly in a variety of non-technical situations, both orally and in writing
    • Understand, reformulate and summarise documents and presentations, in French, on various topics written by experts, including those related to current affairs

    • Identify cultural differences and talk about them
  • Use everyday technology (technological skills)
    • Use standard office software tools and editorial assistance effectively
  • Use lexicographical resources and reference materials to lead linguistic mediation activities individually or as part of a team (professional skills)
    • Use printed or electronic dictionaries and reference materials appropriately
    • Carry out, alone or in groups, activities or projects involving critical analysis
    • Communicate results or conclusions of these activities or projects in an appropriate manner
  • Conduct relevant research and report on it in a critical manner (cognitive skills)
    • Conduct targeted and reasoned documentary research in both the core language and the foreign languages ??studied

UE's Learning outcomes

At the term of this training, students, familiarized with various techniques inherent to the practice of translation and interpretation, will be able to summarize and compose in formal French argumentative texts dealing with contemporary social, economic, political or cultural topics.
