Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
The student will have acquired an overview of the diverse quantitative treatments applicable to the signals of speech. He will be capable of selecting the quantitative treatments the best adapted to a type of objectives and a type of signals beforehand defined; to criticize and estimate choices operated within the framework of a concrete application in the field of the signal processing, by identifying the biases or the artefacts. He will be capable of putting into practice its new knowledge around some of these quantitative procedures of signal processing of speech. He will have acquired a good knowledge of the specific characteristics of the signal of speech and an overview of techniques and technologies associated with the signal processing : analysis, coding and compression, synthesis and recognition. He will be able to approach works or training courses specialized in one of these domains.
UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance
Notions of acoustics and phonetics for the speech signal processing. Digital representations of the acoustic signals. Principles of the digital coding. Analysis of Fourier of sampled and quantified signals.
