Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

    • Use standard office software tools and editorial assistance effectively
  • Use lexicographical resources and reference materials to lead linguistic mediation activities individually or as part of a team (professional skills)
    • Use printed or electronic dictionaries and reference materials appropriately
    • Carry out, alone or in groups, activities or projects involving critical analysis
    • Communicate results or conclusions of these activities or projects in an appropriate manner

Learning Outcomes of UE

By the end of this class, students will be able to proceed with complex text document formatting (MS Word), to make use of spreadsheets functions relevant to their future professional practice (invoices, glossaries, charts...), to effectively present information (MSPowerPoint), to communicate in an efficient way thanks to various computer software and resources (professional networks, spell checkers, graphic tools and website creation platforms...), to think critically when using online resources at their disposal (online dictionaries and translation memories, machine translation...), and to use relevant bibliographical software for in-text citation and source referencing (APA).

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

Hands-on sessions consisting in demonstrations (MSWord, MSExcel, Zotero, WordPress...) by the teacher and practical tasks by the students, with a view to enabling them to put the taught contents into practice. Short theoretical presentations when needed.
