Programme component

Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand language of instruction and foreign languages (language skills)
    • Communicate easily and adequately, in both selected foreign languages, at a minimum level of B2 in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
  • Understand and integrate cultural similarities and differences (cultural and intercultural skills)
    • Be familiar with codes and conventions of other cultures for the sake of interpersonal relationships
    • Develop knowledge in various fields, in particular those aimed at by translation activities
  • Use everyday technology (technological skills)
    • Use standard office software tools and editorial assistance effectively
  • Use lexicographical resources and reference materials to lead linguistic mediation activities individually or as part of a team (professional skills)
    • Communicate results or conclusions of these activities or projects in an appropriate manner

Learning Outcomes of UE

The aim of this course is to let the student communicate in colloquial Egyptian
Arabic in practical situations step by step.
-1) Listening skills 
-2) Use of the new knowledge in role games 
-3) Grammatical approach

The course is based on Manfred Woïdich's and Rahba Heinen-Nasr's book:

"An introduction to Egyptian Colloquial Arabic, the Amercian University in Cairo Press.
