Learning Outcomes of UE

Upon completion of the language courses of this programme component, students will have a good command of Italian at the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Students will be able to :
- understand phrases and expressions related to areas of most immediate priority (e.g. basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, education) ; - catch the main point in short, clear, simple messages and announcements ; - understand and extract the essential information from short, recorded/oral passages dealing with predictable everyday matters which are delivered slowly and clearly.

- describe in simple terms aspects of their background and immediate environment;
- tell a simple story of give a short description;
- describe plans, everyday activities, past actions and personal experiences;
- give a short, rehearsed presentation on a topic pertinent to their everyday life and cope with straightforward follow up questions.



 

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

Class activities centred on :
- understanding of general, particular and detailed information ;
- developing efficient reading and listening strategies ;
- production of simple utterances about various topics.
Commented listening of  audio(-visual) recordings.
Structural and lexical exercises (functional usage of common phrases and expressions).
Speaking exercises : class activities centred on the description, narration and expression of personal opinions in familiar and predictable situations using a simple and functional, reasonably correct language.
