Programme component

Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand language of instruction and foreign languages (language skills)
    • Use French perfectly in a variety of non-technical situations, both orally and in writing
    • Understand, reformulate and summarise documents and presentations, in French, on various topics written by experts, including those related to current affairs
  • Understand and integrate cultural similarities and differences (cultural and intercultural skills)
    • Develop knowledge in various fields, in particular those aimed at by translation activities
  • Use everyday technology (technological skills)
    • Use standard office software tools and editorial assistance effectively
  • Use lexicographical resources and reference materials to lead linguistic mediation activities individually or as part of a team (professional skills)
    • Use printed or electronic dictionaries and reference materials appropriately
    • Carry out, alone or in groups, activities or projects involving critical analysis
  • Conduct relevant research and report on it in a critical manner (cognitive skills)
    • Conduct targeted and reasoned documentary research in both the core language and the foreign languages studied

Learning Outcomes of UE

This "UE" aims at the improvement of French language mastery, with a mainly analytical perspective; which implies being capable of :  - acquiring and mobilizing knowledge in the linguistic field  - consulting specialized tools (document research)  - analyzing speeches (from the text to the word)

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

Semantic and argumentative analyses, stylistic devices in the argumentation, reported speech. Analysis of the sentence with a mainly semantic perspective
