Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the theoretical and methodological fundamentals in psychology, educational sciences and language sciences to analyse a particular situation involving speech therapy
    • Describe the main methodological approaches (goals, methods, techniques and tools) to understand and explain the functioning of individuals and groups
  • Understand the fundamentals of speech therapy interventions
    • Identify the type of intervention, with reference to a theoretical framework, including the choice of appropriate tools to be implemented based on the analysis of a well-defined situation
  • Provide clear, accurate, and reasoned information
    • Provide information (both orally and in writing) regarding the fields of psychology, educational sciences and language sciences in an intelligible manner, with a good command of communication techniques.
    • Summarise the contributions of different sources to justify an opinion or decision
    • Write bibliographic references and results of statistical analysis in a standardised way (according to APA standards)
    • Structure data gathered during the analysis of an intervention request
  • Collaborate, work in a team
    • Interact effectively with other students to carry out collaborative projects.
    • Demonstrate active listening and empathy in the context of an interpersonal situation
    • Identify and appropriately implement the different ways of working in a group
  • Act ethically and professionally
    • Name, and be familiar with legal frameworks and ethical principles that govern research and practice in speech-language therapy, and implement them in their studies in a well-thought out manner (exams, coursework, etc.)
  • Grow personally and professionally
    • Develop their scientific curiosity and open-mindedness
    • Understand the various means available for documentation, to promote self-learning and lifelong learning
  • Understand the fundamentals related to the scientific approach in psychology, educational sciences and speech therapy
    • Identify and describe the different steps to carry out research
    • Identify and explain the main methods (including limitations) specific to the scientific process
    • Give a critique and argue a point of view as part of a scientific approach

Learning Outcomes of UE

The student will be able to manipulate the basic concepts of the field of the measure / evaluation / testing :  (1) to be capable of judging methodological choices, of identifying instruments / procedures of value, of adopting an attitude of constructive criticism, of approaching the courses connected to this one.
(2) to be capable of building a measuring instrument presenting all the quality criteria inherent to this type of tool.

 Brief history of the measure of the human mind / Basic principle of the measure of the human mind/Notion of variability of the behaviors / scales of measure: nominal scales, ordinales scales, scales of interval and scales of ratio / Notion of "test": Criteria of qualification of a test: technical, methodological criteria and epistemological / The theory of the True Scores / Test Reliability and Validity / Items analysis : Difficulty, Discriminativity, Reliability, validity / Introduction to Strong True-score Theories and to Latent-Trait Models.

P-SMSL-218Written examination of knowledge and skills = 70% of UE of which it is an integral part.
The remaining 30% of the UE corresponds to the evaluation of the group practical work carried out within the framework of the AA "Psychometrics and Edumetrics (practical work)" (or "Psychometrics (practical work)" for the logopedics orientation)
Failure to submit the practical work will result in an "absent" mark for the AA and therefore for the UE of which it is an integral part.
P-SMSL-226= 30% of the UE of which it is an integral part on the basis of a report emanating from a group TP.
Failure to submit the report will result in an "absent" grade.
Practical work is organized only once a year and is not reorganized during the second session.
Participation in practical work is mandatory during the first term. They are not organized during the third term (July-August).
