I-GMEC-011 | The assessment takes place in two stages. Applied part: which can either take the form of an exercise solved individually in class for a limited time (The Standard Handbook with Engineering Formulas is the only accessible document), or of an assignment to be submitted. The applied part can include exercises in reading and interpreting plans, graphic representation (detailed, simplified and symbolic) and design and sizing of machine parts requiring numerical calculations and estimates. The applied part is evaluated before the June session. Theoretical part: in June session. The theoretical part does not require numerical calculation: it includes exercises in reading plans, graphic representation (detailed, simplified and symbolic) and design as well as the descriptive and theoretical elements covered in the ex cathedra course: fundamental physical principles under -during the sizing of machine elements, description, selection, design, sizing procedure and use of machine elements. The theoretical part is the subject of an oral examination, as far as conditions allow; otherwise, the oral examination is replaced by a written, face-to-face or distance examination. Maximum duration: 4h15. If the learning outcomes of the EU as listed above are not all assessed satisfactorily at the end of the applied part and the theoretical part, the final mark may be less than 10/20. Otherwise, the weighting is 67% for the written exam and 33% for the graded exercise. |

I-GMEC-011 | The conditions of the examination in the second session are in accordance with those of the first session Students who have passed the applied part (score greater than or equal to 10/20) are only questioned, unless expressly requested by them, on the theoretical part of the course set for the June exam. The terms for awarding the final mark remain the same as for the first session. |
