Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
By the end of the course, the student will understand and contextualize international political phenomena; he.she will apply a relevant and rigorous analytical framework. He.she will be familiar with and mobilize the main theoretical concepts of the IR academic field, and formulate critical reviews of academic papers. He.she will apply theoretical models to empirical cases.
Content of UE
The course is structured around 8 themes: (1) introduction to geopolitics; (2) history of international relations; (3) introduction to of international relations theories, theories and applied cases; (4) democracy, sovereignty and borders; (5) security, classical and contemporary approaches; (6) the nuclear question in IR; (7) contemporary global challenges; (8) international crises management.
If possible, a a film projection with debate will be organized.
