Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

Learning Outcomes of UE

For the first AA (Ethics and Inclusive Policies for Quality of Life), different skills will be discussed on the following topics:
o Law, justice, morals, ethics and deontology
o Deontological and ethical guidelines for clinical remedial education
o Ethics and deontology in research in clinical orthopedagogy

For the second AA (Inclusive and Specialized Education), here is the knowledge that will be covered:
o Knowledge of the history of education dedicated to students with special needs
o Knowledge of the school organization (inclusion, integration, special education) concerned by pupils with specific needs
o Knowledge of the conditions of application and development of an Individual Learning Plan adapted to their needs
o Knowledge of the concept of reasonable accommodation and its application conditions

Content of UE

For the first AA (Ethics and Inclusive Policies for Quality of Life):
Law, justice, morals, ethics and deontology:
* History, clarification of concepts, their similarities and differences
* Ethical dilemmas specific to the practice of clinical remedial education
o Stage of ethical reasoning
o Case studies
Deontological and ethical guidelines for clinical remedial education:
* National regulatory legislative framework: inclusive policies
* International framework: European charter, UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)
* Code of ethics of the clinical orthopedagogue
o Status, professional associations, accreditation, visa and INAMI
o Consent and protection of vulnerable people
o Records management
o Teamwork: professional and shared secrecy
Ethics and deontology in research in clinical orthopedagogy:
* Accessibility of information

For the second AA (Inclusive and Specialized Education):
After presenting the various school policies for supporting children with specific needs in Europe, we will detail the organization of specialized education in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (basic and secondary). We will then define the concept of inclusion and school integration and present the difficulties associated with their implementation in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. We will address the issue of reasonable accommodation. Finally, the course will address the conditions for developing the Individual Learning Plan.
