Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

Learning Outcomes of UE

In accordance with the competency framework of the clinical orthopedagogue, at the end of this UE, the student will be able to :
- analyze and diagnose dysfunctions of systems, development, learning, behavioral and emotional disorders and integrate the social consequences of these.
- to carry out prevention, accompaniment and treatment interventions, seeking to improve the possibilities of development and fulfillment, quality of life, participation in society and autonomy of the client and/or the client's environment.
- to correctly and systematically exploit the intervention process.

Content of UE

In this course, we will approach the notions of diagnosis in clinical orthopedagogy and, more specifically, the evaluation of individuals with dual diagnosis (intellectual disability and mental health disorder or co-occurring behavioral disorder).
More specifically, we will provide methodological principles for the assessment of dimensions such as adaptive behavior, support needs, self-determination, valued social roles, and briefly discuss the assessment of behavioral disorders. We will match the psychometric diagnostic tools and the clinical approach useful for orthopedic diagnosis, particularly from the perspective of the assessment-intervention interrelationship.
At the same time, we will provide the conceptual and clinical notions useful for understanding psychopathology and behavioral disorders in a public with dual diagnosis.
These notions and clinical processes will be put into perspective with case analyses.
