Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand, describe, analyse and prioritise biological phenomena
    • Understand basic scientific knowledge and be able to use it
    • Problem-solve
    • Understand and use different graphical representations of numerical values and their relationships
    • Perceive spatial distribution, and understand two- and three-dimensional representations and interconvert them
    • Understand the chronology of a phenomenon and master the time scales and their representations
  • Control the molecular, morphological and functional approaches of normal and pathological conditions
    • Integrate concepts from different approaches/disciplines in a complex biomedical problem
  • Develop reasoning skills
    • Understand and apply the basic principles of reasoning (obtaining data, analysis, synthesis, comparison, the rule of three, syllogism, analogy, Boolean logic, etc.)
    • Work with efficiency / accuracy / precision
    • Present a hypothesis and hypothetical-deductive reasoning
    • Develop critical thinking, test and monitor conclusions understanding the domain of validity, and explore alternative hypotheses
    • Manage doubt and uncertainty
  • Demonstrate developed interpersonal skills
    • Use a rich vocabulary linking concepts and words accurately
    • Summarise, explain, and argue
    • Work in a team
    • Share knowledge and information
    • Submit reviews, reports and give oral presentations
  • Manage their studies
    • Self-assess and give feedback

Learning Outcomes of UE

The student will have refined his knowledge in general physics (mechanics, fluids, optics, waves, electromagnetism and modern physics). He will understand the physical principles involved in different biological or biomedical applications as biomechanics, blood flow, elasticity, hearing and vision, nerve impulses and
biomedical imaging.
Finally he will be able to develop a scientific method, perform simple experiments, analyze experimental results, to estimate an error and to realize and interpret a graph.

Type of Assessment for UE in Q1

  • Written examination
  • Practical test
  • Graded tests

Q1 UE Assessment Comments

Evaluation based on the evaluations of AA 101 and 102. The weighting is
-85% for the examination on the theoretical lessons of AA 101 and 102,
-10% for the written examination concerning the practical works of AA 102,
-5% for the lab reports of AA 102.

In case of justified absence, if a new assesment is organized, it could be an oral assesment.

Type of Assessment for UE in Q2

  • Written examination
  • Practical test
  • Graded tests

Q2 UE Assessment Comments

Evaluations for the theoretical parts of AA 101, 102 and 105, through a written examination. The weighting is
-85% for the examination on the theoretical lessons of AA 101, 102 and 105,
-10% for the written examinations concerning the practical works of AA 102 and AA 105,
-5% for the lab reports of AA 102 and AA 105.

In case of justified absence, if a new assesment is organized, it could be an oral assesment.

Type of Assessment for UE in Q3

  • Written examination

Q3 UE Assessment Comments

New evaluation for the theoretical parts of AA 101, 102 and 105 through a written examination. The weighting is
-85% for the examination on the theoretical lessons of AA 101, 102 and 105,
-10% for the written examinations concerning the practical works of AA 102 and 105, the ratings obtained during the year are maintained,
-5% for the lab reports of AA 102 and 105, the rating obtained during the year is maintained.

In case of justified absence, if a new assesment is organized, it could be an oral assesment.

Type of Resit Assessment for UE in Q1 (BAB1)
