Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the fundamentals (theories and tools) in human and social sciences
    • Identify and explain the basic theoretical trends in various fields of human sciences (law, economics, management, history, psychology, etc.) and their applications.
    • Understand the social environment and the way it works, as well as the role played by different social, economic and political agents
    • Analyse historical and contemporary phenomena of societies.
  • Human Resource Management option: Understand the fundamentals in the field of human resource management
    • Understand human resource management in relation to organisational environments in which it develops.
    • Analyse human situations in business and propose appropriate measures.
    • Develop a critical view of the tools and methods of human resource management.
  • Communicate in a clear, structured and justified manner on issues related to human and social sciences
    • Develop and structure reasoning and arguments by mobilising concepts and methods specific to disciplines of human and social sciences.
    • Communicate, both orally and in writing, on issues related to human and social sciences.
    • Demonstrate analytical skills.
  • Apply transferable skills, such as analysis and critical thinking, thoroughness, independence, and teamwork
    • Produce an analysis independently and in collaboration with peers, while demonstrating thoroughness.
    • Demonstrate a critical mind, ethical values and independent judgment issues of human and social sciences.

Learning Outcomes of UE

Following this course, students will be able to understand and to apply theorical concepts relating to group. In practice, they will be able to manage a group of first year students : organizing meetings, planning sessions, chairing meetings, time management, evaluation of operation, observations and preparation of accounts reports, reflective analysis of the functioning of the group, evaluation of the members participation.

Content of UE

Theorical section: Management research team, some reference points as notion of group, cohesion factors, group dynamics (participation in production and in solidarity), leadership, leader Tools, conflict management,... Practical section: organization of peer tutoring sessions, exchanges about academic integration (in University), contribution to work realized by first year students, assessment of a field observation realized by first year students, writing of reports about sessions unfolding (with reflective analysis), participation in supervision sessions.

The assessment takes part of: - quality of participation in supervision sessions, - quality of written reports and critical reflection at the end of term 1. Oral examination about written reports.

Q2 UE Assessment Comments

The evaluation takes into account : -the active participation in the theoretical courses and supervision sessions, -the writing of a logbook, describing the conduct tutoring sessions and dealing a reflection on practice, -the quality practice (organization, group management, activities and reflection)
