Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
Establish the relation between the various properties ;
Describe in thermodynamic terms the equilibrium between real phases ;
Evaluate the properties of gases and liquids (pure and in mixtures) ;
Use the relations to solve classical chemical engineering operations (distillation, absorption, adsorption, extraction, chemical reactions).
Content of UE
Fundamental relations ; thermodynamic properties in mixtures ; Gibbs-Duhem equation ; Raoult and Henry's law ; excess functions ; fugacity; activity ; theory of corresponding states ; equations of state ; theories of solutions (Wilson, NRTL, UNIFAC, NRTL, ...) ; liquid-vapour equilibria ; solubilities of gas in liquids ; solubility of solids in liquids; chemical reactions.
