Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
At the end of the class, the students will be able to:
- describe the evolution of the anthropological science in function of its political and historical context;
- give examples of operating fields for anthropology;
- summarize the theoretical input of founding authors of the discipline;
- define basic concepts in anthropology;
- be aware of the importance of vocabulary in the construction of a discourse over the others;
- show the role of anthropology in the understanding of the world and in conflicts resolution;
- illustrate the diversity of behaviors and motivations of human societies through case studies.
Content of UE
Beginnings of anthropology, operating fields of the discipline, characteristics and methods, anthropology as a translation of the world, the total social fact, theories and founding authors, mistakes of anthropologists, rites of passage, marriage, kinship and locality, birth rites and name giving, reproductive fluids, purity and representations, the anthropologie of art, ethnopsychiatry and applied anthropology, the culturality of emotions, orality and writing, bodily techniques.
