      Content of Learning Activity

      This course will allow students to know, understand and criticize: (a) the major theoretical currents and major themes of anthropology; (b) the debates they raise, their possibility conditions and their challenges; (c) the plurality of ways of thinking, of forming society, of being in the world and of imagining the world. The teaching will be given ex cathedra. Students will have readings and practical work to be done; course will address the following topics: evolutionism, diffusionism, the French school, American culturalism, British functionalism, structural anthropology, critique of structural-functionalism, Marxist anthropology, dynamic anthropology, "post-modern" criticism, state anthropology, and ethnographic method.
