Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
At the end of this course, students will be able (a) to identify objects in studies of psychology, (b) to disentangle the scientific approach to this discipline from the popular approach, (c) to characterize different approaches to behaviour and mental processes: psycho-dynamic, humanist and cognitivo-behaviorist, (d) to describe and define the key concepts and major theories associated with the different approaches, (e) to discuss contributions and limits of the different theoretical perspectives, (f) to describe and explain the different concepts and theories related to social psychology (e.g., stereotypes), and (g) to apply concepts to practical cases.
Content of UE
Introduction: definition,areas of psychology,the approaches and methods in the psychological sciences
Psycho-dynamic approach: the concept of the unconscious, the theory of Freud
Integrative behavioral approach: the responding conditioning, operating, social Learning, emotional acceptance, tolerance, cognitive biases
Humanist approach: the principles, theories of Maslow and Rogers, the notion of autoactualisation, assessment
Systemic approach: communication, strategic approach, structural approach
Introduction to social psychology: stereotypes development
