Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • In the field of chemistry, possess highly specialised and integrated knowledge and a wide range of skills adding to those covered in the Bachelor's programme in chemistry.
  • Help lead and complete a major development project, individually or in teams, related to chemistry.
    • Mobilise, articulate and promote the knowledge and skills acquired.
    • Demonstrate independence and their ability to work alone or in teams.
  • Develop and integrate a high degree of autonomy.
    • Pursue their education and gain additional knowledge and new skills.
  • Apply high quality scientific methodology.
    • Demonstrate thoroughness, independence, creativity, intellectual honesty, and ethical values.

Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of the course, the students will be able to: - Use the groups's theory to discuss the properties of complexes - Understand the spectroscopic data from the characterization of complexes - Understanding coordination chemistry

Content of UE

Groups symmetry theory; crystalline molecular orbital and field : electronic levels of octahedral complexes , tetrahedral , tetragonal and square - plane ; Jahn -Teller effect ; spectroscopy : d-d, ligand - metal , metal -ligand transitions; organometallic complexes and aggregates.
