Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
Master principles and fundamental physical quantities of acoustics;
Be aware of sound transmission and reverberation problems in buildings;
Be able to solve simple problems of acoustic correction and sound insulation;
Understand legislation and standards devoted to building acoustics. Understand essential notions and terminology of indoor and outdoor lighting;
Master fundamental laws of photometry and colorimetry;
Describe methods of photometry;
Understand and be able to use chromatic diagram;
Recognize specific equipments for lighting;
Apply in exercises usual methods of artificial and/or urban lighting.
Content of UE
Physical basics of acoustics - Sound measurement and analysis - Criteria for assessment of noise annoyance; Absorbing materials - Reverberation - Acoustic correction; Airborne sound propagation; Basic concepts of room acoustics; Airborne sound insulation; Impact sound insulation. Physics of light: essential notions; Eye physiology and characteristics; Fundamental quantities and lighting laws; Material and methods of photometry; Notions of colorimetry; Light sources and luminaries; Lighting project methodology; Indoor and outdoor lighting calculation; Natural lighting.

For "Acoustique appliquée aux bâtiments" :
Written examination in 2 parts:
part 1: theory without notes (45%)
part 2: exercises with notes (45%)
practical works (10%)
For "Techniques de l'Eclairage" :
Written examination in 2 parts:
part 1: theory without notes (40%)
part 2: exercises with notes (40%)
and lighting planning report (20%).
Final Mark : 50 % Acoustique appliquée aux bâtiments + 50 % Techniques de l'éclairage
