Prérequis

Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand language of instruction and foreign languages (language skills)
    • Communicate easily and adequately, in both selected foreign languages, at a minimum level of B2 in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
  • Understand and integrate cultural similarities and differences (cultural and intercultural skills)
    • Be familiar with codes and conventions of other cultures for the sake of interpersonal relationships
  • Use lexicographical resources and reference materials to lead linguistic mediation activities individually or as part of a team (professional skills)
    • Carry out, alone or in groups, activities or projects involving critical analysis
    • Communicate results or conclusions of these activities or projects in an appropriate manner
  • Conduct relevant research and report on it in a critical manner (cognitive skills)
    • Assess the relevance and reliability of documentary sources used
    • Give a critique of the studied literature

Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of the immersion activities, students will be able to:
- implement their linguistic and (inter)cultural skills in the natural environment of one of the chosen languages of specialization ;
- show proof of their integration capacity, either by successful completion of a formal study program in the guest country or region, or by a programme of activities covered by a placement agreement with a company or host organisation where the foreign language is the main vehicle for internal and external communication.
 

Content of UE

Study stay such as an Erasmus exchange in a partner university of UMONS.
Immersion internship in a business company or host organization in Belgium or a neighbouring country.

Prior Experience

Mastery of the language in use at the destination at level B2 (B2+), at least, of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
