Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the theoretical and methodological fundamentals in psychology and educational sciences to analyse a situation involving these disciplines
    • Identify and explain the concepts, principles and models of fundamental theoretical trends in psychology and educational sciences and their applications
    • Identify and describe the biological and socio-cultural foundations of human behaviour
    • Identify and describe the specific characteristics of psychology and educational sciences and their relationship to other contributory disciplines
    • Explain and give examples of human functioning, including in its atypical and pathological dimensions
  • Grow personally and professionally
    • Develop their scientific curiosity and open-mindedness
  • Understand the fundamentals related to the scientific approach in psychology or educational sciences
    • Identify and explain the main methods (including limitations) specific to the scientific process

Learning Outcomes of UE

Understand and know the main approaches and the theories of the psychological development, and know how to establish comparisons between them. Understand and know the various methods used in developpemental psychology as well as the limits of each. For every period of the development (life-span perspective), to understand and to be capable of describing the diverse transformations appearing in each domain (cognitive, social, physical, emotional) of the development. Be capable of establishing the interactions between the various facets of the development as well as with the factors which influence the development

Content of UE

overview of Theories and Research methods of Developmental Psychology. LIFE-SPAN perspective (from the prenatal period to old age). Cerebral maturation and growth •Stages of cognitive, physical , linguistic, moral, emotional and affective developments • Temperament, personality, self-esteem,attachment theory • Identity formation, gender and social roles • Theory of mind
