      Content of Learning Activity

      The course of cardiology is an interactive discussion of the following topics : the cardiac semiology, the diagnostic tools and technical examinations, the coronary artery diseases, the valvular diseases, the pericardial diseases, the high blood pressure, the cardiomyopathies, the arrhythmia, the syncope, the congenital cardiomyopathies, the heart failure, the cardiac surgery and peripheral arterial and venous diseases.
      Practical exercises are organized to illustrate the theory for ECG reading. Clinical examination and auscultation will be learned on a simulator (Harvey). Echocardiography will be demonstrated. Clinical cases will be discussed to illustrate diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, following the guidelines and evidence based medicine.

      Computers are available for the students in the department of cardiology.
      The Patient Simulator Harvey is available to the students, on prior request.
