Learning Outcomes of UE
LANGUAGE: Upon completion of the language courses of the third module, students will have a good command of the foreign language at a minimm of B2+ level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Students will be able to: - indicate links between ideas, highlight meaningful points; and use the proper transition signals so that sentences flow into a clear, coherent whole; - develop arguments that take into account the other speakers’ views and make connections with their statements and deductions ; - negotiate, in writing and orally, adequate solutions to the problems of everyday life.
CULTURE AND INSTITUTIONS: At the end of the course, the students will be able:
- to identify, place and describe significant cultural events as a native speaker would (literature, Fine Arts, political, economic and social organisation, judicial system, etc.) ;
- to carry out competent and accurate research on these subjects ;
- to report on their methodology and research.
Content of UE
LANGUAGE: Receptive and productive activities focused on discursive skills, effective social discourse and negotiation strategies. Emphasis on interaction with native speakers and on intercultural skills (preparation for linguistic immersion). Elements of English linguistics and literature.
CULTURE AND INSTITUTIONS: Familiarization with culture and literature.
Presentation of the organisation of the political, judicial and social systems, as well as of important social activities (education, media, etc.).
