Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Instruct an architectural issue
    • Study the different components of a theme to articulate its findings in a comprehensive summary
    • Build an architectural culture based on theoretical and critical knowledge and personal reading
    • Coordinate the various disciplines related to architecture and urban planning transversely
    • Contextualise their approach to architecture
  • Develop a spatial response
    • Master the means of oral, written and graphic expression
    • Develop a project methodology integrating the various constraints related to the architectural discipline
  • Implement an identified spatial response
    • Adopt an applied scientific approach
    • Reconcile the creative and functional dimensions in the project
    • Adapt their structural, technical and formal choices according to the principles and values of project.
  • Interact with all actors
    • Master the different means of expression available to the architect to communicate to informed publics, or not
  • Make choices
    • Demonstrate reflexivity, openness and initiative

Learning Outcomes of UE

History of art and architecture play a leading specific role to familiriser him studying " future architect " in the practices of past: 1. INCLUDE art and architecture in its context of SOCIETY to define with it major ACHIEVEMENTS; 2. Put in HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE the part of artistic and architectural INNOVATION / TRADITION; 3. To CARRY a REFLEXION CRITICAL on interpretation or positions regarding artistic and architectural heritage; 4. Be able to ANALYSE the DIMENSIONS of art and of architecture The history of ideas and history of culture allow to take the HISTORICAL DETACHMENT necessary for architectural plan.

Content of UE

Prehistory: the origin of art and megalithic architecture in Europe.  

Appearance of architecture and of first cities in the Near East.   

Close and Medium historical East: architecture and arts included in Mésopotamie.  

Egypt: architecture and integrated arts of the Ancient Empire in Low Epoch   

Greece: architecture and arts included into Aegean civilisations and into civilisation Greece.   

Rome: architecture and arts included into Roman Empire.
