Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of the course the student will master the concepts studied in order to have a critical approach to different types of translations that will have to perform.
Following this teaching unit the students will explain the genesis of the imagination, the assimilation of reality to me through a creation of a controlled reality. They will know the different stages of the structure of personality, will have an introduction to concepts of psychoanalytic theory in relation to the structuring of language. They will identify the different defense mechanisms in a translation operation or interpretation. They will identify the different personality structures of translators and their pathologies. They will be able to establish a typology of different types of translations, a ranking of literary genres. They will have a reasoned discussion on the question "Who translates what and why? "

Content of UE

Study of the genesis of the imagination, adaptation to reality to achieve the simulation of a controlled reality leading to assimilation of reality to me. The general introduction to psychoanalytic theory is studied in relation mécamismes involved in translation and interpretation. Study of different personality structures to a typology of different literary texts and different translations. Exploration of cognitive and inconcious processes involved in the translation of a literary text. Notions of empathy, linguistic insight, language weightlessness.
