Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Imagine, design, optimise, carry out and implement projects and solutions to address a complex problem by integrating needs, contexts and issues (technical, economic, societal, ethical and environmental).
    • Identify complex problems to be solved and formulate the specifications by integrating client needs, contexts and issues (technical, economic, societal, ethical and environmental).
  • Mobilise a structured set of artistic and scientific knowledge and skills and specialised techniques in order to carry out architectural missions using their expertise and adaptability.
    • Master and appropriately mobilise knowledge, models, methods and techniques specific to the architectural engineering.

Learning Outcomes of UE

apprehend problems in relation with polluted soils and polluted sites describe and explain the rules in Walloon Region (décret sols) and elsewhere understand and discuss the characterisation techniques of potentially polluted sites describe and explain the different available technologies of reclamation apply the different knowledge to a specific situation

Content of UE

sources and nature of pollutions ; soils ; polluted soils ; behaviour of pollutants in the ground and ground water (metals, metalloids, hydrocarbons); impacts of polluted soils ; techniques and strategies of characterisation of potentially polluted sites; rules ; reclamation techniques ; in-situ and ex-situ operations; physical methods; thermal methods; chemical methods; biological methods; isolation of a polluted soil; extraction of pollutants from the soil; destruction of pollutants into the soil; case studies
