      Objectives of general skills

      • Actively master the fundamental concepts and models of economic sciences and management sciences
        • Understand the methods and tools adapted to the field of economics and management
      • Acquire basic methodological tools necessary for scientific inquiry in the field of economics and management.
        • Describe the principles of methodological approaches (objectives, methods, techniques and tools) to understand and explain the functioning of organisations and markets.
      • Critically compare knowledge acquired to real situations.
        • Develop and structure reasoning by basing it on suitable scientific arguments
        • Demonstrate an acute sense of analysis, criticism and ethics in relation to various issues in economics and management.
      • Demonstrate working and analytical rigour.
        • Be rigorous and independent in learning, particularly through adequate planning of activities to be undertaken in order to best utilise the time available.
      • Understand the scientific foundations of technological processes and the management of information flow and their respective involvement from a managerial point of view.
        • Understand the methods and tools adapted to the field of economics and management.
        • Understand extensive tools dedicated to the management of technological processes and the management of information flow.
      • Activate mathematical and computer models to insert them into analytical reasoning.
        • Understand the methods and quantitative tools adapted to the analysis of economic and management sciences.
        • Analyse and model a problem, by critically selecting appropriate theories.
        • In reference to a theoretical framework, identify appropriate tools to solve a problem related to economics and management.

      UE's Learning outcomes

      At the end of this course, students must be able
      - regarding certified management systems, to explain the different concepts presented, to apply the concepts to concrete cases of companies, to develop a management system in agreement with the norms ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and HOSAS 18001, to  write the documentation in relation to one of these certified management systems, to identify possible dysfunctions and propose corrective and/or preventive measures;
      - to address a complex problem of decision making while avoiding common pitfalls and implementing some ideas and techniques to overcome these difficulties;
      - to master the fundamental concepts of information and communication technologies and information systems; to adapt to the technological changes,

      UE Content

      For certified management systems, introduction, quality management systems (ISO 9000 and 9001), environmental management systems (ISO 14000 and 14001), the EAMS system, health and Security Systems (OHSAS 18001), integrated management systems, conclusion.
      For decision aid methodology, structuration of a decision problem (in a multicriterion framework), problems related to agregation of judgements (example of the social choice theory) and to the notion of criteria importance, the MACBETH approach.
      For "Compétences informatiques pour l'ingénieur de gestion", the concept of Information System (IS), typology of information systems, networks and telecommunications, the TCP/IP reference model, general concepts of the computer security.
