      Objectives of general skills

      • Actively master the fundamental concepts and models of economic sciences and management sciences
        • Understand the methods and tools adapted to the field of economics and management
      • Demonstrate working and analytical rigour.
        • Demonstrate self-awareness, assess themself, and adapt.

      UE's Learning outcomes

After this course, the students will be able to :
      - modelize some optimization problems with constraints by linear programming,
      - solve them with simplex algorithm
      - interpret and exploit their results
      - modelize some problems in uncertain situations
      - modelize scheduling problems
      - use a series of basic statistical tools usefull for economic decision making (expectation, variance, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing) both as theoretical and empirical tools.

      UE Content

      Linear programming.
      Decision analysis.
Introduction to greaph theory (scheduling problems).
Probability distributions; sampling, point estimation and sampling distribution; interval estimation; hypothesis testing; comparison of means and ANOVA; comparison of variances, comparison of proportions; adequacy tests and tests of independence; nonparametric and robust statistics.
