      Objectives of general skills

      • Understand language of instruction and foreign languages (language skills)
        • Use French perfectly in a variety of non-technical situations, both orally and in writing
        • Be proficient in another foreign language
      • Use lexicographical resources and reference materials to lead linguistic mediation activities individually or as part of a team (professional skills)
        • Use printed or electronic dictionaries and reference materials appropriately
        • Reformulate, summarise, translate or interpret a document of general interest written or presented orally in a foreign language into French
      • Conduct relevant research and report on it in a critical manner (cognitive skills)
        • Conduct targeted and reasoned documentary research in both the core language and the foreign languages studied

      UE's Learning outcomes

      The students will be able to: - provide a true and accurate translation of text using the foreign language correctly and appropriately; - apply appropriate strategies of revision, avoidance and communication.

      Furthermore, students wil be able to:- bring out the logical structure of a general text, written in the foreign language;- render the meaning of this text in a correct French;- advisedly use dictionaries and reference documents.
