- Explain the relationships between molecular, morphological and functional changes and pathological conditions, their clinical signs and symptoms
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills developed within a medical context
- Summarise, explain, and argue
- Develop reasoning skills
- Develop critical thinking, test and monitor conclusions understanding the domain of validity, and explore alternative hypotheses

UE's Learning outcomes
The developed concepts will enable the future doctor to understand the nutritional and metabolic needs of different categories of patients, at the level of both energy inputs and macro- and micronutrients input/deficiencies/overload. It develops the physicochemical and biochemical concepts useful in understanding the composition, cooking and digestion of food.
UE Content
The UE develops biochemical and physicochemical concepts (energy balance, reactive oxygen species, vitamins, macro- and micronutrients, Maillard reaction, contribution of the colonic microflora in digestion, dietary fiber...). Some clinical applications allow putting into perspective the studied concepts.
