Objectives of general skills
- Adopt a professional approach to audio-visual translation and subtitling/dubbing. Master the concepts, techniques, methods and devices specific to audio-visual translation and subtitling/dubbing.
- Master the different steps to carry out research in audio-visual translation with technological support a pyscho-educational dimension.
- Master various audio-visual translation and terminology software (e.g. computer-assisted translation software, translation memory, terminology database, voice recognition software).
- Take appropriate action regarding cinema and television for subtitling, dubbing, adaption, labialisation, audio description, respeaking, fansub-fandub and automatic subtitling: view audiovisual material, translate and adapt the dialogues and comments, draw up a quote and produce a DVD according to market standards.
- Master the skills of proofreading and translation-adaptation (master techniques and strategies of labialisation, proofreading and revision).
