The course is divided into four parts : i) Main trends in Anthropology, as far as methods are concerned ; ii) Basic steps in scientific anthropological research ; iii) Concepts and attitudes useful to the discipline; iv) Most used methods and techniques, with a focus on participative observation and on the various techniques of interview. Transversally, it also refers to the epidemiological and ethical dimensions that underlie the discipline. A series of photographs are presented at about 2/3 of the classes to help the student put images on the numerous examples previously cited, which are drawn from the lecture’s own field experience.
