Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of the instruction, students will be able to better understand HR function role in companies; understand the role they can play, as future managers, in human resource management and in the implementation of HR practices; to analyse relations between HR practices and company performance; to better understand specific HR practices (such as recruitment, selection process, pay practices,  ...)

Content of UE

4 chapters structur the lessons :               - chapter 1 defines HR management basis and goals. It explains the roles that HR function can play in companies and the historical evolution of HR function across the ages           - chapter 2 describes the contexts surrounding HR function. The influences of external contexts (economic, technology, demographic, etc.) and internal contexts (strategy, company culture, etc.) are depicted. The students are in this way able to understand that the way HR management is implemented in companies depends on such contexts.Various HR models are also approached.                                                                              -  chapter 3 describes HR planning, recruitment, staff selection and induction practices     - chapter 4 deals with compensation policies and highlights repercussions of some pay systems on companies and staff.       Case studies and video are used during classes
