Objectives of general skills

UE's Learning outcomes

At the conclusion of the course, students will be able to examine stylistic features and developments; recognize art movements and styles; understand, describe and analyze a work of art; trace, compare and identify ancient Greek and Roman heritage in architecture, sculpture and painting;use the intercultural knowledge for understanding, analysing  and contextualising in translation activities.

UE Content

Introduction to art history; chronological articulation of arts evolution in Europe; initiation into the principal movements of art, highlighting the contribution of Greek and Roman arts to the European cultural heritage; approach to the Middle Age, the Renaissance and Classicism; overview of the major stylistic and formal developments; outstanding university and museum authorities are regularly invited to lecture on campus.
