Objectives of general skills

  • Understand language of instruction and foreign languages?? (language skills)
    • Communicate easily and adequately, in both selected foreign languages, at a minimum level of B2 in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)?
  • Understand and integrate cultural similarities and differences (cultural and intercultural skills)
    • Identify cultural differences and talk about them
  • Use lexicographical resources and reference materials to lead linguistic mediation activities individually or as part of a team (professional skills)
    • Use printed or electronic dictionaries and reference materials appropriately

UE's Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students will have a good command of Dutch at the B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.More specifically, students will be able to :- take part in an unprepared conversation on familiar topics, everyday issues or of personal interest ;- express themselves in a simple way in order to tell experiences and events, hopes and projects.- briefly explain their opinions and projects ;- tell the story or the plot of a book or a film and express their reactions.

UE Content

Production of simple utterances in Dutch on varied topics. 

Structural and lexical exercises in language lab.

Class activities centred on the description, narration and expression of personal opinions in familiar and predictable situations using a simple and functional language.
