Objectives of general skills

  • Understand language of instruction and foreign languages?? (language skills)
    • Use French perfectly in a variety of non-technical situations, both orally and in writing
  • Use lexicographical resources and reference materials to lead linguistic mediation activities individually or as part of a team (professional skills)
    • Use printed or electronic dictionaries and reference materials appropriately

UE's Learning outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to read literary and non literary texts and : to understand the explicit and implicit content of texts, to make typological groupings, to identify thesis and arguments into argumentative texts, to study the role of stylistic devices. More generally, students are invited to develop general knowledge and exercise critical thinking.

UE Content

Linguistic and pragmatic analysis of texts, textual typology, argumentation (80 arguments/ logical articulations/aims of argumentation/argumentative structure), stylistic devices in argumentative texts.
