Objectives of general skills
- Understand the fundamentals
- Understand the fundamentals of physics and the role of models and theories
- Collaborate and work in a team
- Have developed practical skills in physics through practical sessions in the laboratory, including error analysis and critical evaluation of experimental results, sessions in which they have worked individually and in groups
- Have a rigorous scientific approach
- Solve simple problems in the context of physics by identifying their basic aspects and by using both appropriate theoretical and experimental methods
UE's Learning outcomes
At the end of the instruction, the students will be able to :
- understand and apply the basic principles of physics (classical mechanics, geometrical optics, thermodynamics)
- develop the theory from observations in a logical and rigorous way
- develop models with a scientific and mathematical approach
UE Content
Mechanics : kinematics, dynamics, work, energy, momentum, center of mass, rotation, torque, angular momentum, gravitation.
Geometrical optics : reflection, refraction, mirrors, lenses, optical instruments, vision.
Thermodynamics : temperature, ideal gases, first law, kinetic theory, second law.
Prior experience
