Objectives of general skills

  • Show expertise in the pharmaceutical field: b demonstrate pharmaceutical expertise
    • Understand how the human body works by using knowledge of anatomy, biochemistry, physiology, immunology, microbiology and pathology under the dual approach of normal and pathological conditions in order to understand the action of medications on the body
    • Understand the basic concepts of pharmacology and pharmacokinetics
    • Understand compounds for pharmaceutical application regarding their chemical structures, their structure-activity relationships, their physicochemical properties, their origin (synthetic, semi-synthetic, natural), their analytical control methods and their areas of use from a therapeutic point of view

UE's Learning outcomes

The course tries to provide to the young Pharmacist student an wide overview on different aspects and societal stakes concerning the Pharmacist education, the profession of Pharmacist and drugs.

UE Content

Based on different subjects directly related to the practice of the officinal art (drug definition, different forms of art of cure, socio-economical aspects), the main goal of the teaching is to sensitize the young student in Pharmaceutical Sciences to his roles of scientific guarantor and as actor of first line for the public health.
