Objectives of general skills

  • Understand the fundamentals (theories and tools) in human and social sciences
  • Collect, analyse and interpret data and information on matters within human and social sciences in an appropriate manner

UE's Learning outcomes

At the end of the instruction, the students will be able to identify and apply the fundamental principles of data analysis, according to an appropriate perspective for the human sciences and this, with descriptive and inferential points of view.

UE Content

Descriptive statistics: setting different data (tabular forms, graphical forms) ; statistical indices (mean, median, mode, standard deviation, … ; parametric correlation (r of Bravais-Pearson) descriptive aspects... Probabilities and theorical distributions (normal and binomial) Inferential statistics (interval determination and statistical tests)
