Objectives of general skills

  • Understand the fundamentals (theories and tools) in human and social sciences
  • Understand the social environment and the way it works, as well as the role played by different social, economic and political agents
  • Understand research methodologies applicable in human and social sciences
  • Develop and structure reasoning and arguments specific to human and social sciences
  • Communicate in a clear and structured manner on issues related to human and social sciences

UE's Learning outcomes

To help students understand the society they live in and provide them with the conceptual tool necessary to analyse it.
Trough the study of the main currents of sociological thought, the students learn to analyse several social contemporary processes and the most important social evolutions that we have faced recently.
In a final part, several basic sociological concepts are also presented and specific attention is drawn towards the functionning of complex organizations.
