Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

Learning Outcomes of UE

Upon completion of this course, students will have developed an enhanced understanding of macroeconomic equilibria at fixed and flexible prices. Above all, they will be able to apply the various concepts to current economic policy issues, particularly fiscal and/or monetary policy. They will also be able to understand and use tools such as cost-benefit analysis and public and private responses to externalities, and relate them to current issues such as global warming.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

The IS-LM model (including open economy). Aggregate supply models. Aggregate supply and demand and the resulting policy implications. Cost-benefit analyses. Economic externalities and the impact of economic activity on the environment.

Prior Experience

Introduction to Microeconomics and Introduction to Macroeconomics or Principles of Economics (60 h).
