Learning Outcomes of UE

KNOWLEDGES
At the end of the workshop ATSP, the students will be capable: -To determine appreciably a territory. -To take a stand by diagnosis. -To develop a strategy according to a scenario. -To propose attitudes of structuring and preparation of the territory which guarantee an environmental quality. The concept of the project thus lies in the approach of a right scale to program contemporary challenges linking to equal part landscaping and architectural concerns.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

Workshop philosophy
ATSP advances URBANISM AND ARCHITECTURE as the areas specific to the CULTURES OF SPACE.
A quasi-geographical TERRITORIAL APPROACH USES THE PROJECT AS A PROCESS OF SENSITIVE QUALIFICATION OF BUILT AND NON-BUILT LEGACIES.
An inductive methodology, concerned with an economy of means, causes the diagnosis before formally producing PLANOLOGICAL WRITING.

ON THE SCALE - TERRITORY …
No projection on the territory can today be reduced to a personal stylistic vision.
In this sense, the architect does not impose but sensitizes, reveals or even provokes cultural situations.

Starting from an almost GEOGRAPHICAL vision at the REGIONAL and/or INTERREGIONAL level,   ATSP   therefore focuses mainly on the SENSITIVE QUALIFICATION and the valorisation of territories of low densities in search or in loss of meaning: INDUSTRIAL WASTELAND, SETS OF YEARS 60-70, NATURAL PARKS, RIVERS, SLOW ROADS, AGRO-URBAN AREAS...

The strategic partnerships SUPRA communaux, the projects of VILLE and the PCDR serve regularly as first observatories. Analytical grids are then applied to them in search of the figures and components of the territories of tomorrow, as envisaged in particular by the approach of STUDIO SECCHI-VIGANO.

It is therefore a question of planning the space but by first proposing attitudes of structuring and PREPARATION OF THE TERRITORY that guarantee an environmental and LANDSCAPE quality of the unfurnished space, to then be able to program answers to our NEEDS and public equipment in a certain ECONOMY OF MEANS.

An INDUCTIVE METHODOLOGY is installed in which the project is conducted as a process whose successive phases ANALYSIS - DIAGNOSIS -SCENARIO- naturally challenge sources of knowledge to formally lead to a PROJECT WRITING or architectural and landscape intentions will be intimately linked.

…TO THE PROJECT SITUATION.
How to keep the awakening of a transversal discipline ?

It is to this type of questioning that ATSP   and the pedagogy it proposes : a prospective approach based on the transversal diagnosis that defines the cultural, defends HYPER CONTEXTUALIZATION and regularly confronts the architectural form with the culture of the landscape.

Thus, at the meeting of the daily existence of INHERITANCES of all kinds and of GEOGRAPHY as a revelator of human relationships with places, the student grasps a theme, constructs a scenario and induces a program, a PLANOLOGY, or, if you will, project conditions. In this sense, the architect does not improvise but sensitizes, reveals and then provokes situations.

THE PROCESS BECOMES PROJECT. THE CONCEPT IS NO LONGER THE ENEMY OF THE CONTEXT.
The pretension of singular objects is erased in favour of a recognized rightness in the ability to generate link and sharing.

There is certainly uncertainty, as in real life, but there is above all a will to build a CRITICAL MIND   in front of contradictions that our society can sometimes produce.

Through this approach, ATSP seeks the learning of an ARCHITECT who has become not a paper reactionary, no longer a simple performer, but a SEEKER OF POSSIBILITIES.
