Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Manage large-scale software development projects.
    • Apply, mobilise, articulate and promote the knowledge and skills acquired in order to help lead and complete a project.
    • Lead a project by mastering its complexity and taking into account the objectives, allocated resources and constraints that characterise it.
    • Demonstrate independence and their ability to work alone or in teams.
  • Manage research, development and innovation.
    • Understand unprecedented problems in computer science and its applications.
    • Organise and lead a research, development or innovation project to completion.
    • Methodically research valid scientific information, lead a critical analysis, propose and argue potentially innovative solutions to targeted problems.
  • Master communication techniques.
    • Communicate, both orally and in writing, their findings, original proposals, knowledge and underlying principles, in a clear, structured and justified manner.
    • Adapt their communication to a variety of audiences.
  • Develop and integrate a high degree of autonomy.
    • Aquire new knowledge independently.
    • Pursue further training and develop new skills independently.
    • Develop and integrate a high degree of autonomy to evolve in new contexts.
  • Apply scientific methodology.
    • Critically reflect on the impact of IT in general, and on the contribution to projects.
    • Demonstrate thoroughness, independence, creativity, intellectual honesty, and ethical values.

Learning Outcomes of UE

he master's thesis constitutes a research and/or development project in the field of computer science. This project is conducted within a university research laboratory or in the private sector, under the supervision of a mentor who proposes a thesis topic, guides the student in their approach, and provides advice. A thesis typically involves the following steps: an in-depth literature review on the topic, planning and conducting research and/or development activities, analyzing the results, and writing a document of a maximum length of 100 pages, excluding appendices. The presentation of the results follows the conventional structure in science, including an introduction, an objective, a description of methods and/or materials, presentation and discussion of results, conclusions, a list of bibliographic references, and appendices. During this work, the student acquires a range of skills, including the ability to independently analyze a problem and propose solutions, conduct experiments and interpret data, deepen their understanding of the scientific literature, and communicate abstract ideas and scientific results.

Evaluation is done based on the written report and the oral presentation. It takes into account the level of understanding of the subject, the quality of the written report, the oral presentation, and responses to questions during the oral defense.
