Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Have acquired professional skills in relation to the objective defining the degree.
    • Learn about scientific research and the world of research.
    • Integrate into an inter-university environment and conduct scientific collaborations.
  • Help lead and complete a major development project, individually or in teams, related to chemistry.
    • Mobilise, articulate and promote the knowledge and skills acquired.
    • Assess the degree of complexity of the project and take into account the objectives, allocated resources and constraints that characterise it.
  • Manage research, development and innovation within chemistry and/or its applications.
    • Understand unprecedented problems in chemistry.
    • Possibly propose innovative solutions to targeted problems, which also requires attentiveness and mutual respect, as well as argue and establish constructive debates.
  • Communicate clearly in the scientific domain.
    • Communicate, both orally and in writing, their findings, original proposals, knowledge and underlying principles, in a clear, structured and justified manner.
  • Develop and integrate a high degree of autonomy.
    • Pursue further training and develop new skills independently.
  • Apply high quality scientific methodology.
    • Demonstrate thoroughness, independence, creativity, intellectual honesty, and ethical values.

Term 1 Assessment - comments

AATerm 1 Assessment - comments
S-CHIM-152The exam consists of presenting a research article selected with the teacher. The presentation of the article takes around 10 minutes, based on a 5-10 slide powerpoint, and gives rise to a 20-minute discussion with the teacher, who will use the concepts seen in class.

In the event of proven plagiarism with aggravating circumstances of erroneous bibliographic referencing for the relevant part of the work, the grade for the teaching unit (i.e. educational component, EU) will be zero points out of twenty (0/20) and the case file will be forwarded to the deliberation jury to rule on the merits of further sanctions.
